How We Can Help You

As a therapy clinic we are not traditional, in that, we do not do what everyone else does. We actually use our hands! And our hearts. We are all trained in The John F. Barnes’ Myofascial Release Approach. We use our hands to detect tension in the muscles and the surrounding fascia. Fascia is a protective thin barrier that surrounds all tissue in the body. It is supportive but at the same time can cause restrictions equivalent to a “straight jacket”  causing strain patterns, shortening of some muscles and overstretching others; creating pain and pressure on sensitive structure. Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapists take a holistic approach to patient care. Each person is viewed as their "occupational roles" such as, worker, caregiver and student. Goals are focused on the individual and what role or roles in life they would like to improve upon. The primary modality for occupational therapy at Healing In Motion is John F. Barnes use of myofascial release. We combine JFB MFR with other modalities such as activity modification, work/energy simplification as well as patient education on self care and exercise.
