Wellness Program
Our Wellness program allows you to receive advanced manual techniques as Massage Therapy without the need of an MD prescription or insurance authorization. Our providers have specific training in Barnes Myofascial Release and exercises for strengthening and stabilization. This program also provides instruction in self-treatment techniques and home exercises to maintain your function and gains made in treatment.
The Wellness Program may not be covered by your insurance plan. Our Program allows you to make the decision about the length of sessions, frequency and will reinforce our policy to treat the entire body.
Wellness: Massage Therapy and Personal Training
This is not covered by most insurance plans. We do not bill insurances for our Myofascial Release therapy as done under our Wellness Program. However, this is a more cost-effective way to receive Advanced Myofascial Release and specific exercises.
Please note: Direct spinal manipulation and internal pelvic techniques are not allowed by law under Massage Therapy. These techniques must be done under our Physical Therapy program in accordance with Michigan Law. We understand that this is to protect the patient and ensure a high quality of training. We are pleased to have advanced internal training and spinal techniques available through our Physical Therapy program.
Myofascial Release:
We can teach you how to care for your whole body using the Myofascial Release Techniques as taught by John Barnes, PT. This is different than other forms of Myofascial Release as it integrates muscle energy and craniosacral techniques into the overall treatment as needed to provide a comprehensive treatment technique for the complete person. You may hurt in one place, but actually have a restriction, poor alignment or decreased flexibility somewhere else which is actually causing the problem. Myofascial Release addresses the problem rather than just the pain. The John Barnes approach to Myofascial release is excellent for stress reduction, headaches, pain, poor alignment and postural dysfunction.
Between injury and full return to recovery, there is need for skilled and closely supervised exercises. Personal Training is part of the Wellness Program at Healing In Motion in order to help each client reach the highest level of function.
Sandra Hilton is a certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise. She also brings to the sessions her background in Physical Therapy and rehabilitation of orthopedic, spinal and neurological dysfunctions.
Training sessions begin with a complete structural analysis, cardiovascular assessment and body composition testing. A specific program which utilizes the best practice and most current research in sports and fitness is then designed to help you reach your potential. All programs are centered around exercises and stretches which can be done at home, on the road, or at work.
